4It’s amazing how much lead up time we have until Christmas but then in a blink of an eye, it’s gone. I always look forward to this time of year. And this year I was very excited with the gifts I gave to friends and family but was even more excited to wear some fantastic holiday clothing.3

While it’s nice to always wear the latest and greatest looks for the season, it’s okay to pepper in tried and true classics. I love these plaid trousers from Burberry. I have had them for several years yet they still look great for today. Paired with a gold turtleneck, and finishing with side zip boots; t was a great holiday look. It’s a decidedly 60’s look but still relevant for today.

For outwear, I added the classic peacoat also from Burberry. The peacoat has been around for over 300 years and was adopted for use by both the US and British navies. Interestingly, the design has been relatively unchanged through out its history although today’s coat sees a variety color and patterns. The only issue this year was that the weather was a little warm to sport this winter look. Not being deterred however, I still sported the look but I just turned up the AC (smile)!7

But don’t just relegate your looks for the holiday season. Some, like this blogged look, can work all winter long. Just a hint of color such as the gold turtleneck or the red as part of the plaid pattern in the pants may be just the spark you need to lift you out of the winter doldrums. This will be especially treated when the weather becomes cold and dreary and you’re resorting to black attire.
