I recently had a chance to spend an evening at the newly remodeled Embassy Row Hotel in Washington, DC. One of the highlights was sipping cocktails by the hotel’s rooftop pool.

Not only do you get a wonderful view, the newly remodeled Embassy Row Hotel sports a fantastic rooftop pool, complete with an outdoor bar, spacious cabanas and terrific lounge areas which sit on two levels. Warm and inviting, it was an ideal spot for lounging by the pool with new friends.

Embassy-Row-Launch-Party-Party-Photos-0156Since it wasn’t hot enough to bust out a series of fantastic new swimsuits, I figured the evening called for something that would make a statement. I selected cotton floral chinos by Craft Mrkt, a light lavender shirt by G Star Raw with a mint cotton blazer by Armani.

While my clothing colors were more muted, I wanted to complete the look with something a little more vibrant. To accomplish this, I chose these bright drivers by Manolo Blahnik. (Yes they do make shoes for men!)

The Destination hotel, just east of Dupont Circle, is ready to give visitors an authentic DC experience. Not with gimmicky presidential portraits but with its well thought out appointments including the business center with coffee bar, ping pong table and nicely equipped gym.

In addition, food is also key to achieving the Washington experience with products sourced from Union Kitchen in the hotel’s restaurant, Station Kitchen and Cocktails, which serves American food small plate style and specialty craft cocktails.
