Every season at New York Fashion Week there are a few shows that remind you why the industry still knows how to create a moment. The Sergio Hudson NYFW Fall Winter 2026 presentation was exactly that. Hudson delivered a collection filled with power tailoring, dramatic eveningwear, and the bold confidence that has become synonymous with the Sergio Hudson woman.
Celebrating 10 Years of Sergio Hudson

Hudson’s runway show felt both like a milestone and a statement of where his brand stands today. The collection paid homage to several of the women and cultural figures that have inspired him over the years—including his mother and unforgettable pop culture characters like Dominique Deveraux from Dynasty, Glenn Close’s Cruella DeVille, and Jacqueline Broyer from Boomerang. Their influence could be felt throughout the collection’s confident silhouettes and unapologetic glamour.
The Sergio Hudson Woman: Polished, Powerful, Unforgettable

And of course, the Sergio Hudson woman was very much present: polished, powerful, and unforgettable. The runway delivered everything Hudson does best. There were sharply tailored suits that reinforced his reputation as one of fashion’s masters of power dressing, alongside dramatic eveningwear that brought rich color and texture to the runway. Jewel tones, sculptural gowns, and confident silhouettes created a collection that balanced sophistication with boldness.
A Menswear Moment Worth Noticing

Hudson is widely known for his womenswear, but this season’s menswear moment also deserves attention. Only three men’s looks walked the runway, but each one made an impression. The tailoring was sharp, the attitude confident, and the pieces felt every bit as intentional as the womenswear that has made Hudson such a force on the runway.

Note to Sergio: I wouldn’t mind finding these looks hanging in my own closet… just in case you need to make some room on your end too.
A Designer Defining His Own Narrative

Hudson has spoken in interviews about not wanting to be defined solely as “the Black designer showing at New York Fashion Week.” And I understand that sentiment—designers want their work to stand on its own merit.
At the same time, I think it’s important people should know who is behind the clothes. This is true especially now when representation and visibility are shaping the fashion industry today.
What ultimately matters most, though, is the work itself. And this collection proved once again that Sergio Hudson knows exactly how to create clothes that command attention.
