In the age of disco, the wider the collar the more stylish you were. The fly away collar was all the range but fast forward some 40 years and no one wants their collars looking as wide as the wings of an airplane. Traditionally, the simpliest solution was to wear a button down collar. But how do you hold your collar down if you don’t wear a button down shirt? This is where Wurkin Stiff n Stays come in. This is a great fashion hack men need to grab.

Wurkin Stiff n Stays

Normally I’m not a fan of button down collars. I do not like to wear them with suits, I feel they are a bit to casual. Don’t’ get me wrong I have a few but I’ll typically wear them under a sweater or on very casual occasions. As a result, most of my shirts are dress shirts and if I wear them without a tie, I tend to have that floppy collar look. Enter Wurkin Stiff n Stays.

Clean look with Wurkin Stiff n Stays

Wurkin Stiff n Stays are magnetic collar stays that are designed to be hidden button down collars. The stay works just like a regular collar stay but it comes with a super strong magnet that once applied to the inside of the shirt, nicely holds the collar in place. It gives the shirt a nice polished look.

Wurkin Stiffs is the brainchild of Jonathan Boos. He is famous for his heated interchange with Damon John on Shark Tank. He presented his stays on the show requesting $85,000. Ultimately he received $100,00 though a joint partnership with Barbara Corcoran and his tv nemeis. Damon John.

While these magnetic collar stays are a fantastic way make you collars stand up great, there are a couple of caveats. The first, the magnets are small and powerful they can be easily misplaced. I usually find them attached to something magnetic. (In my case, it’s usually my keys!) The other thing is to be sure before washing or sending out to the dry cleaner be sure to remove from shirts. If not, your shirt may be ruined.
