Spread the love

It’s fall and I must admit, I’ve been a little lax at pulling together some Autumn/Winter looks. I think it’s partly because summer is still trying to hold on to its DC weather. Even though I love fall fashion, the idea of layers when it’s still pushing 90 degrees seems dreadful. That being said the fall fashions are out and I’m exciting about the new trends for the season. That’s why when the opportunity to try out something from Rockport’s new fall line of shoes, I jumped at the chance. I was eager to try out the Rockport Total Motion line.

The Total Motion line is hoping to dispel the idea that great looking shoes aren’t supposed to be comfortable. Truth be told, I have a beautiful pair of shoes from a high-end brand who shall be nameless that kill my feet. So naturally, I wanted to take the challenge. The Total Motion shoes with their stability, flexibility and cushioning aim to provide the wearer great style and comfort which can last all day.

Total Motion Technology

The Total Motion technology is based on 5 features:

1.        Antimicrobial, moisture wicking EVA footbed for added comfort and odor absorption.

2.        Premium Materials such as supple leathers and soft suedes to help for the perfect fit.

3.        Arch support for a long-lasting foundation.

4.        Full-length stability plate to offer stability in the hell and flexibility in the forefoot

5.        truTech which is a lightweight comfort system providing shock absorption at the heel.

I chose the Classic Dress Wingtip which I had originally intended to be part of my dress shoe rotation. However once they arrived, I thought they’d be great as a shoe to dress down as well. The first thing I noticed was that they were extremely lightweight. And I liked the dress shoe style of the design. Rockport does offer similar designs with a more athletic sole which is popular feature for many guys however this design is in keeping with my aesthetic.

How to Wear

The wingtip design is perfect for those tailored look combinations. I wore mine with a double breasted suit jacket and tan pants for DC Modern Luxury’s Women of Style event. Earth tones and a hint of red are great for fall and the shoes helped to complete the look.

For a more casual style, I lost the suit jacket and tie and went with a simple dress shirt and added a fun plaid bomber jacket. It was a great look to stroll the Washington Harbor down in Georgetown.

Conclusion

Comfort and style go hand in hand in these affordable Rockport shoes with Total Motion technology. What’s nice is that many of the styles including the ones I’m wearing can easily be dressed up or down. Rockports can be found out many of the DC major retailers such as Macy’s and Nordstroms as well as online at Rockport.com.
