Free Assembly is one of those go to brands, everyone can easily add to their wardrobe. Free Assembly is Walmart’s private label brand featuring stylish essentials for the whole family. One of the things I love about the label is you can mix, layer and assemble many of the pieces for a variety of great looks. During my latest shopping spree, I wanted to pick out a few key items that could mix and match to create several weekend wear looks.

All year I have been hitting Walmart to add Free Assembly pieces to my wardrobe. I originally tried out the brand because I was obsessed with Brandon Maxwell.  Since he had become creative director, I was eager to try out some of the pieces from his Free Assembly collection. The initial pieces I chose, are still in heavy rotation. The jeans are fantastic. They wash well and hold their shape. I get compliments on the jacket every time I wear it. And I’m still a fan of the striped yellow shirt. Check out my previous post and you’ll know why!

Since then, I’ve snapped up some additional pieces. Free Assembly’s fantastic, elevated essentials helped me put together several fun summer looks. And who could blame me? I was able to nab quality pieces at really affordable prices. Now I wanted to update my weekend wear looks with some additional pieces from the collection.

Weekend Wear Looks

What are your weekend wear looks? For me it’s nothing too dressy but something that still looks good whether lounging around the house or running errands around the city. It’s those essential pieces that you can throw on and still look great but also feel super comfortable. In choosing my latest pieces, I wanted to find pieces that I could mix and match.  That way, I could create several looks with just a few key pieces.

For my weekend wear looks, I choice 5 things: 2 shirts, a pair of shorts, a pair of joggers and a zip front hoodie.  All the pieces are in muted pastel colors so they are easy to match. The joggers when worn with the hoodie, creates the classic track suit. Either shirt will pair beautiful with the jogger jacket combination. Both shirts also look great with the `shorts. The light blue chambray shirt is an excellent choice against the boldness of the striped shorts. While the same striped pattern found in both the shirt and the shorts makes for an ideal matching shirt short set. These matching set have been very popular this summer. Need a lightweight jacket? Not only does the zip from hoodie look great with the joggers but it’s also the perfect complement when worn together with the shorts and either of the shirts. The idea is to have a variety with your weekend wear looks but also make it look effortless.

Award-winning fashion designer Brandon Maxwell has made it his mission to create timeless garments that make everyone feel beautiful. His visionary outlook is a guiding force. “Everybody should have access to something that makes them feel good,” Brandon says. “The greatest fashion tells you a story & helps you understand where it sits, how it lives, & what it stands for.” And now the opportunity to find Free Assembly is even greater. Now only will it continue to be a strong presence online but the label is expanding to 1,000 stores for women’s and children’s and 750 stores for me.
