Spread the love

When it comes to fall fashion typically, all eyes are on the women to see what the fashion trends will be for the season. However as men are paying more attention to how they look and dress, there has been an increased interest in what men are wearing. Although menswear is a smaller part of the fashion industry, it is growing at a faster pace than women’s. According to Euromonitor, a market research provider, this trend is expected to continue through 2021. With this expanding interest in menswear, what better way to look usher in the season but by looking at some of the men’s fall fashion trends for 2018. Keep reading and check out my segment on Great Day Washington.

Some of the top men’s fall fashion trends for 2018 include color, bold plaids, monochromatic dressing and athleisure looks. For color, look for the shades of the season that mimic the color of autumn leaves. Colors like burgundy, mustard, orange, yellow, green and even some blues are nice additions to a wardrobe this time of year. Opt for jewel tones or go a little brighter.

Patterns have been popular over the past few seasons and will still be one o the hot fall fashion trends for this year. Think big and bold. Opting for a striking plaid as a suit can add a multitude of wardrobe options. The suit can be split so that the pants or the blazer can be worn either together or as separates. What’s great is that the bold pattern can become a statement piece for your entire ensemble.

On Cory, I’ve incorporated two of the fall fashion trends for the season: pattern and color. His jacket is done in a great shade of green, a nice alternative to the typical blacks and browns typically seen this time of year. Combined with his bold print slacks and finished with a simple fitted gray v-neck tee, this is a perfect date night look.

Cory’s Look:

Scotch & Soda – Plaid Pants

Tip: Looking for an inexpensive pair of plaid pants? Try ASOS. They have a large selection of patterns and styles at a lower price point

Splurge: Versace

7 Diamonds – Green Leather Jacket

Athleisure continues to be on the rise because the look and style is all about comfort and ease. The idea is to create a comfy look but not appear like you’ve just finished a sweaty game on the courts. Joggers and sweats are excellent choices along with functional, yet sport jackets. To elevate the look, shy away from the jersey materials and look from better quality fabrics like wools, tweeds and cashmeres.

On Romin, I elevated his athleisure look by upgrading the fabric of his pieces using wools in different patterns and textures. In addition, while his clothes are still loose, they are not overly baggy. It’s still a very comfy look but does not look sloppy.

Romin’s look:

Billy Reid – Stanton Pant

Billy Reid – Herringbone Hoodie

Billy Reid – Eastwood Jacket

The sweatshirt is a hot staple in the atleisure. Check out some hot choices here.

Even with the growing market of athleisure and the preference for business casual, Washington is still a tailored town. There’s a growing number of made to measure brands popping up and almost every retailer in the city offers tailored looks at just every price point. My burgundy suit is in one of the hot colors for fall which I’m showing as a tonal look, another of the great fall fashion trends. In addition, I kept the look casual by opting for a print shirt and no tie.

My look:

A monochromatic look in a bold color may be too edgy for some. If that’s the case, try taking some of the elements of the fall fashion trends and work them into more traditional styles. On Dan, I’ve incorporated the burgundy color in his tailored look. He’s in a fantastic plaid suit and instead of going all out on the color trend of the season, I’ve used the burgundy color as accents to his look. Notice the burgundy in his suit as well as its use in his accessories.

Dan’s Look:

Plaid suit, tie and pocket square: all available at Stitched.

I like this post fresh and valuable. I concur with the thing you said about denim pants. they are only my goto outfit. The men’s design advertise is underserved. However, it’s improving, however. Denim pants are another name for comfort. Having these pants in the closet is consistently a superior decision.
