Spread the love

I have lived in Washington, DC most of my life and I have been amazed at how much it’s changed over the years. I just love how much the city has grown. That’s why I was really excited when the District Winery opened up. The idea of a winery in the city is really cool and the venue located in the Yards in southeast has been in a great addition to town.

Now the winery is about to release the first DC made wine. On April 22nd, District Winery is releasing its 2017 rosé. To celebrate, the winery is hosting a special Rosé Release Party. I was asked to shoot some pics in order to give away tickets. To enter the contest head to my Instagram pic or to purchase tickets head to the District Winery link. Naturally I had to taste the rosé. It’s delicious light and crisp and I’m a definite fan so look for me at the release party. Plus don’t I look like a knowledgeable sommelier? One thing for sure is I poised and ready for some rosé!

Now that it’s spring, I wanted to feature a great spring look. However the temperature has not been cooperating with the calendar. That’s why I’m still sporting a heavier suit. To lighten up the look, I went with a pink theme, tonal pink, shirt, tie and pocket square.

One of the ways to move between seasons is to adopt elements of both seasons in your look. Since it’s still a little chilly, I could get away with the heavier suit without wearing an overcoat. And I softened the look with the pastel pink tones. (Truth be told, I also chose pink because of the rosé.). Other lighter colors such as yellow, lavender or baby blue would be great options as well. Conversely, if we were transitioning summer to fall, I might opt for a lighter suit but with darker accents. Just because the calendar changes the weather might not so be ready to adjust your look accordingly.

It’s a great place to visit especially since it’s right in DC. Complete with tasting room and an amazing event space. Plus the food is good too!
