There”s always two components to the an Awards show, the actually awards and tthe fashions that the stars are wearing. The 2019 Emmy’s were no exception. While the awards were the typically trophy giving affair, although with no host, the fashions did not dissappoint. This year a lot of the guys were’ not afraid buck tradition by working in bold colors or nontraditional looks. And others channelled old Hollywood glamour. So without further ado, here are my pics for the best dressed men of the 2019 Emmys.

Best Dressed Men of the 2019 Emmys: The List

Billy Porter

Billy Porter has become a style icon so many anticipated his Emmy look.  Porter who just celebrated his 50th birthday opted foe a custom suit by Michael Kors.  It took 173 hours to hand embroider the mini crystals (over 120,000) on the jacket and pants. He completed his look with with Rick Owens platforms and a custom hat by Stephen Jones.

Milo Ventimiglia

Veering away from the standard black or blue tuxedo, Ventimiglia chose a silvery/bronze tuxedo blazer with a shawl collar. for an elegant look, His jacket, tuxedo pants and shoes were all from Brunello Cucinelli.

James Van der Beek

It may have been a hot California Day but James Van der Beek wasn’t shy about dressing for fall.  He makes the top 10 list for his couragous dusty rose velvet dinner jacket with matching tuxedo shirt and bow tie. Completing the look were black tuxedo pants. All were by Brioni. Where he does get a slight deduction was his brown shoes. Black shoes would have worked better.

Tan France and Antoni Porowski

The cast of Queer Eye is another group of guys known for their fashion sensibility. Noticeably missing was Jonathan Van Ness however the other 4 of the Fab 5 each brought a different take to the red (or rather purple) carpet. Not all were winners. Tan France made the best dressed men of the 2019 Emmy with his gorgeous gold tunic. While Antoni Porowsk wowed with his custom look from Ralph Lauren Purple Label.

Terrence Howard

Terrence Howard’s show, Empire, may be ending at the end of this season, however he’s still bringing his fashion game. Howard who says he’s running away from acting as soon as the seaon wraps, also ran away from the tradtional tuxedo jacket. Instead he rocked a paisley vest in bold tones paired wiith royal blue pants and tie to bring the look together. He finished the look with crown emboidered loafers. To add bling to his vest, he wore  Buccellati’s Dragonfly Brooch in 18k yellow and white gold set with mother-of-pearl and rose cut diamonds.

Jon Hamm & Randall Park

Props to both Jon Hamm and Randall Park for showing how a tuxedo should be worn. Both Hamm and Park were the epitome of Hollywood glamour. It’s easy to see why these guys mad the top ten best dressed men of the 2019 Emmy’s. These guys earned their leading man status.

James Cordon

With a little bit of flourish, James Cordon transformed a traditional black tux into something extraordinary. His custom black tuxedo from Alexander McQueen was embroidered with a whire floral design on the front of the jacket.  The design wass big and bold, hence no boutonniere was necessary.

As guys have opped their style game, it get’s harder to choose who’s at the top of the best dressed lists. Honorable mentions are needed for John Oliver and Dylan Burnside for their impeccable tonal formal attire. Do you agree with my top for the best dressed men of the 2019 Emmys. Let me know in the comment what you think or if there’s anybody I missed.  You can also drop me some names dor the worse dressed list.
