Travel to Long Beach

Spread the love

For the Labor Day Weekend I had the opportunity to travel to Long Beach, California. Naturally when the chance to venture to the other side of the country happened, I jumped on it. And of course my first thought was what was I going to wear for my cross-country flight.

If you’ve been reading my writings, you know how I feel about dressing for travel. I’ve talked about travel fashion and how to pack for trips in previous posts so for my travel to Long Beach I wanted to find a great look from my excursion. I like to be comfortable when I travel. Yet I feel that sometimes most people are a little too laxed.

One of things to consider when traveling is temperature especially if you’re flying. You want to be prepared for both the temperature on the plane as well as be ready for the weather in your final destination. Since I tend to be cold on a plane dressing in layers is a good choice for me. One of the easiest ways to do that is to grab a blazer.  I also knew it was going to be warm in Southern California so I wanted to wear something that would give me that cool California vibe.

I opted for linen shorts and a blazer. Together this make a great short suit. The perfect mix of casual yet somewhat of a tailored look. To give it that SoCal vibe I added a subtle Hawaiian print shirt. For a little dressier vibe, I could’ve easily swapped out the printed shirt for a shirt and tie. However since this was travel to Long Beach, I felt this combo was more in keeping with my California style.

I knew I had to bring a strong look for my trip because I was meeting up with other fellow bloggers like my good friend Diego Leon. Diego is better known as Dandy in the Bronx. This guy is one dapper dude and definitely lives up to his dandy moniker. So did I bring it? Love to hear your thoughts.

So, I’ve never been able to pull shorts and a blazer off like you here. But I’m going to attempt it. This post is giving me the courage to try… 😉
