Bold Print - Cover
Spread the love

A couple of weeks ago I thought spring had finally sprung. But then the DC area was hit with weeks of rain it seemed like we’d have to float into summer. It seemed as if spring would never hit the Nation’s Capital. But fortunately the last couple days the weather has been beautiful so naturally, I had to take advantage of it. Bold print shirts are one of the big trend this spring/summer so I eagerly donned mine and headed outside.

One of DC’s newest thriving hot spot is the Wharf. It’s amazing the transformation that has developed throughout the entire city. One of the newest areas is the Wharf located in Southwest Washington. The area is now alive with shops, restaurants, entertainment, hotels and residences. With the first sunny day in a long time, that’s where I decided to spend the day.

You know I like to wear a suit all year but sometimes it’s good to let loose and be a little more casual.   This year, bold prints are big and although I’m not one to buy into the latest and greatest trends, bold prints are right up my alley. But lately I can’t get enough of them.

The easiest way to style it is to let the bold print take center stage. White pants create a great backdrop to show off a dramatic shirt. (For the record, I’ve slowly relaxed my rules about wearing white before Memorial Day. Technically however mine are off white.)

I picked out this shirt at Billy Reid. The one great think this Spring/Summer is that you can find some great shirts at almost every price point. To give you some options, I’ve picked out 10 of my favorites. These are just some suggestions. With so many options, you can be sure to pick out something pretty unique that sets you apart.

Love the subtle pops of color in the socks and watch strap that compliment the red colors of the printed shirt Barnette!
